Branch:

# Clinical pharmacology
-Pharmacodynamics(the drug does to the body)
-Pharmacokinetics(the body does to the drug)
#  Therapeutics
# Pharmacy
-Pharmacognosy(deals sourse, identification, isolation, purification and         standardization of drug)
-Phamaceutical chemistry(deals synthesis of new drug)
      -biopharmaceutics(deals formation of drug)
# Toxicology
# Pharmacogenetics
# Immunopharmacology
# Chemotherapy

Reasons for taking drug history from patient:

  • Detecting drug hypersensitivity
  • Avoiding drug antagonism
  • Avoiding failure to drug response
  • Avoiding/ minimizing adverse effect
  • Avoiding unwanted synergistic effect
